waiter DINNER IN THE DARK

February 6, 2003
Dogs with Vision and Have Paws Will Travel hosted this combined event.
Participants experienced how blind people manage at dinner by enjoying a tasty meal while blindfolded, or wearing vision impairment simulating glasses.
Dog training games followed the meal. Everyone agreed the event was a great success!

Dot and Leonard made their way through the buffet line with a little help from Leondard's Guide "Rodeo." Then they enjoyed their Dinner in the Dark together.

Both blindfolds and low vision simulating glasses
helped participants gain empathy with their

GOLDFISH RELAY
Participants donned blindfolds and with a little help from sighted guides, relayed spoonfuls of goldfish crackers to the other side of the room.

MUSICAL CHAIRS
When the music stops, find a seat and have your dog sit. If someone can entice your dog to jump up, you lose your seat and are out of the game....
